Repeat Prescriptions

pill_bottlePatients can return to the surgery the tear off slip from their previous prescription, or fill in a repeat request form, or request medication in writing, clearly indicating the items that are required. Prescriptions can also be posted direct to you when accompanied by a stamped, addressed envelope.

You can also order your medication online. Ask at reception if you are not already signed up.

If you wish your prescription to be sent direct to a chemist, please remember to mark this on your request and allow 4 days before collecting.

Please note do not accept telephoned prescription requests.

Changes to Medication

All of our prescribing is monitored by the IWCCG who promote responsible use of the drug budget. They aim to advise all doctors on up to date, efficient and economical medicines. Occasionally a particular medication will be changed for all patients, island wide, to another very similar one or to one with a different brand name. This rarely causes any problems but please let your doctor know if a change is made to your medication which does not suit you.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
